About Us
CareAbility is a participant-focused disability support service based in Carrum Downs. We are proud of the service we provide – a participant-focused approach to building independence, fostering positive social interactions and achieving goals. Our team will work with you, ensuring you have choice and control to develop support that is planned in line with your goals and meets your everyday needs.
Our Support Workers are inclusive and are recruited to work in line with our vision and share our values. Where we started
Christie started working in the Disability Industry over 8 years ago, beginning her career working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). She managed a children’s respite facility in Mentone for a number of years. During this time she saw a gap in services being offered for participant-focused support where the participant didn’t have to mould to what was being offered by the provider. Instead, she set out to provide a service that was participant-focused and that truly delivered against participant needs, rather than expecting participants to mould to the service that she would offer.
With this in mind, Christie Marsh Community and In Home Support was established in early 2016 – with a small number of participants and support workers. As the needs of our participants and their families began to evolve, so did the services offered. In 2018, CareAbility as we now know it was born. While CareAbility now offers a larger range of services, providing a personalised service is just as important to Christie as ever. This approach will continue to shape what we do at CareAbility.
